Riot police accuse people waiting outside restaurant of illegal assembly
At around 11 p.m., the Riot Police conducted a large-scale round-up, stop and search along Yau Sun Street and Kin Yip Street in Yuen Long.
Among them, more than 10 people were stopped in front of the Ichininmae Ramen Restaurant on Kin Yip Street and asked to produce receipts to prove that they were customers of the shop, failing which they were arrested for “participation in illegal assembly”. Later, police spotted the reporter filming and immediately drove him away from the scene and extended the cordon to 50 meters away.
There are about ten restaurants in Kin Yip Street, including dessert shops, stalls and bars. After raising the blue flag, the police pushed forward and searched the customers of the restaurant, and more than 50 people were stopped at the scene.
