At 23:00, Special Tactics Squad suddenly rushed forward and subdued a few civilians, with at least two brought onto the police car. About 10 police officers arrested an unarmed man in a grey T-shirt, whose face was pepper sprayed, and dragged him away. At last, four riot police officers lift him off the road. One of the officers suddenly used hit the man’s back and head with the baton. According to the news on the scene, the man was accused by the police of assaulting on police officer.
Also, the police officers repeatedly pepper sprayed crowds of civilians in the area of Hop Yick Road near Fung Cheung Road. Many journalists got sprayed. Andrew Wan Siu-Kin, Legislative Councillor, was also sprayed in the clash. The scene was chaotic.
