The bystander solicitor only questioned the police officer for stopping the girl without reasonable suspicion and giving basic legal advice to the girl. He pointed out that she had the right to remain silent and had not deliberately obstructed the work of the police officer, but he had been scolded and constantly obstructed by the police officer “Sergeant 22”. Civilians have no experience of being searched or stopped by police officers and it is not unreasonable for lawyers to provide legal information to the young girl. The police officer have a bad attitude towards lawyers and young girls alike, and their work ethic seriously undermines the quality of police service and the professional image that police officers should have when enforcing the law.
