721 Silent Protest in Causeway Bay, Riot Police who used pepper spray and abused their power to close Times Square
Silent protests had been initiated at various locations in Hong Kong Island to commemorate the eight-month anniversary of the Yuen Long 721 Incident. At around 9 PM in the evening, dozens of people gathered in the atrium of Times Squares in Causeway Bay for a silent protest, some dressed in black T-shirts and carried slogans of “Never Forget”.
The police had stopped and checked passers-by near Kai Chiu Road during the rally. At around 9:30 PM in the evening, several young people leaving Times Squares were stopped and checked, some people jeered, riot police suddenly sprayed pepper spray to people who were present at the scene, and arrested a man and took him to an “AM6155” police vehicle when that man only said “corrupt cop”. Many people who were present at the scene including journalists were covered with pepper spray, the riot police had scared the journalists to continuously walk backwards, a person shouted “May your whole family die”. Then, riot police attempted to arrest that person who was very agitated. Later, another man was arrested.

Hong Kong residents shall have freedom of speech, of the press and of publication; freedom of association, of assembly, of procession and of demonstration; and the right and freedom to form and join trade unions, and to strike.
Article 28
The freedom of the person of Hong Kong residents shall be inviolable.
No Hong Kong resident shall be subjected to arbitrary or unlawful arrest, detention or imprisonment. Arbitrary or unlawful search of the body of any resident or deprivation or restriction of the freedom of the person shall be prohibited. Torture of any resident or arbitrary or unlawful deprivation of the life of any resident shall be prohibited.

1) Everyone shall have the right to hold opinions without interference.
